Grape: Timorasso 100%
This Cru comes from ancient vines in the municipality of Vho, from a specific parcel named "Pitasso". This hill is exposed at south-east with an altitude from 250-300m above sea level. Soil is majority compose from calcareous - clay. Vines are up to 40 years old and the cultivation system is Guyot (4,000 plants per hectare).
The yeld is about 5,000 kg/hectare and grapes are normally harvested in late September/early October, harvested by hand into small wooden baskets.
Colour is very clear, medium-intensity straw yellow colour.
At the nose, we have an intense, long-lasting, constant, persistent, floral and fruity with a smooth, warm sensation in a soft, elegant complex with final hints of flint.
At the palate is very typical, mild mineral hints that dissipate into chamomile, ripe plums, walnut and toasted almond in the finale.
Pitasso as multiple uses, as excellent served throughout the meal, after dinner and as a “meditation” wine.
Comes into its own when served with full-flavoured cheeses and rival-less with shellfish in addition to elegantly accompanying white meats, meat pâté and vegetable pies.
